HUD Aproved First-Time Homebuyer Education
BASE offers potential homebuyers FREE one-on-one counseling sessions with our HUD-certified housing counselors to determine mortgage readiness. Whether you are wondering how the homebuying process works or if you are already in the process but have questions, this program is designed to educate potential homebuyers of the many steps to homeownership. From setting a realistic household budget, to explaining the homeownership process and lending requirements, our certified counselors can help guide the way.
During the counseling sessions our certified housing counselor covers the following:
- Credit report assessment and recommendation to improve credit
- Developing a budget and action plan with steps that lead to homeownership
- Overview of the homebuying process
- Preparing for homeownership
- Qualifying for a mortgage
- Shopping for a home
- Available down payment assistance and grant information

Home Ownership Made Equal (H.O.M.E.) Program
For generations, homeownership has been an essential component of the American Dream. To own a home, raise a family, and become an intricate part of the community has been a goal for many.
Our new "HOME" program is aimed at making dreams come true. We are excited to help make a difference, by providing closing costs and down-payment assistance to qualified first-time homebuyers.
Participation in the HOME program is limited and will be granted on a first come, first served basis.
